Meet Ruby

Ruby is 39 years young and has three wonderful children. As a rookie, she started working in 2005 with no skills and no income. She was quick to join our fairtrade community and learned the jewellery making craft from one of our master craftsmen, Shyam.

Ruby loves her artisan community, which she says is welcoming, kind and cooperative. All her products are made from environmentally friendly materials, using crafts that are traditional to her community. After coming from a small village, Ruby is now a master craftswoman herself. She is earning a sustainable income and together with her husband, she intends to send all her children to college.

Ruby has one message for all our customers: Spread the word of Fairtrade and help increase awareness of the positive impact it has on artisan communities around the world.
