Issue 1400 - Ben Eine Collector's Edition Speak Up

Street artists from all around the world are putting their stamp on The Big Issue next week as we launch a one-off special edition with guest editor and celebrated London artist Ben Eine. Eine is one of the most celebrated street artists in the world and a pioneer of graffiti letterforms. If you remember back to 2016, he also designed an exclusive ‘CELEBRATE’ cover to mark the sale of our 200 millionth copy and has been a friend and supporter of the magazine ever since.

From Monday, vendors will hit the streets with the exclusive 52-page magazine showcasing artwork contributed by more than 60 high-profile global street artists including Pure Evil, Anthony Lister, Obey, Lauren YS and Vhils.

Not only that, but Eine has created three very special – and hugely collectable – front covers on the theme of UP, to coincide with the Big Issue mantra of ‘a hand up, not a hand out’.

Each eye-catching design carries a version of his signature typography and will be available in a small run of limited edition prints – with a percentage of sales going directly to The Big Issue to support the fight against poverty.

Collectors Edition #2/3

The Big Issue

The Big Issue’s own-brand products support the creation of a range of work-based opportunities for disadvantaged people.
The Big Issue has spent over 27 years at the helm of self-help revolution. It all began with the launch of The Big Issue magazine in 1991, which was created to offer homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income by selling a magazine on the streets. Since then over 200 million copies magazine have been sold by over 100,000 people. Vendors buy the magazine upfront for £1.50 and sell it on to the public for £3.00, and in doing so each runs their own micro-enterprise. In 2005 Big Issue Invest was launched, with the aim of extending The Big Issue’s mission by financing the growth of social enterprises and charities across the UK. To date the organisation has directly invested in over 350 such organisations, and manages or advises on more than £170 million of social funds.
