Forgiveness is Really Strange

What is forgiveness? What enables people to forgive? Why do we even choose to forgive those who have harmed us? What can the latest psychological research tell us about the nature of forgiveness, its benefits and risks? This comic, based on science and real-life stories, illustrates the complexity of forgiveness and what it can mean to different people and its potential for positive change. It explores the key aspects of forgiveness and the impact it can have on the mind and psyche. Authors: Masi Noor and Marina Cantacuzino. Art by Sophie Standing. Hardback book

The Forgiveness Project

The Forgiveness Project shares stories of forgiveness in order to build hope, empathy and understanding.
The Forgiveness Project collects and shares stories from people who have rebuilt their lives following hurt and trauma. Their experiences bear witness to the resilience of the human spirit, acting as a powerful antidote to narratives of hate and de-humanisation, presenting alternatives to cycles of conflict, crime and injustice. At the heart of our work is the belief that restorative narratives have the power to transform lives; not only supporting people to move on from harm or trauma, but also building empathy and hope. This idea informs our work across multiple platforms - in publications and educational resources, through the international F Word exhibition, in public events, and our award-winning RESTORE prison programme.
